My EDC 2024 ReCap
Hello bass family! I know its a little late.. BUT as a first hand raver and a festival brand owner in this community, I felt it was necessary to give an update on my experience at EDC Las Vegas 2024. Along with that, I will provide more info about my recent EDC24’ Custom Pashmina Hood Give Away I hosted on my Instagram platform @BassBirdEssentials
My EDCLV24’ experience will probably be one of the most memorable festival experiences in my life. A lot of highs and a few lows happened through out the entire weekend. I realized when I’m in my zone, my safe space, and my element (which is at the rave) literally nothing can bring me down or hold me back from having a wonderful time.
Some of my favorite sets of that weekend were Tape B, Seven Lions, Zingara, John Summit b2b Greenvelvet, Gryffin, Sara Landry and Benny Benassi. Everybody killed it of course but these artists really stood out to me that weekend. Super lit, so many great vibes.
The crowd this year was a little mellow. I think as a community we could show a little more energy for the artists performing because they put a lot of time and energy into these sets so I feel it’s only right that we show up with all the energy to reciprocate. I noticed the crowd not as hyped as you would think for an event like EDC. It didn’t stop me from having a great time though, everyone parties differently and I respect it. Whether you’re bouncing off the walls or just groovin’ to yourself, the energy never lies and everyone has a right to vibe how they feel comfortable. We’re here for the music remember that!
This years theme at EDC was kineticCIRCLE. I had so many full circle moments at EDC this year it was insane! The full circle moment that touched me the most was at Kinetic Field (the Main Stage) where I submersed myself at the legend Benny Benassi’s set! For those who don’t know, Benny is Pioneer in the EDM community from back in the day. You’ve probably heard a Skrillex remix of his song “Cinema” for all my bass heads. What made it full circle is that even though I’ve seen him a few times, being at EDC it took me back to when I was younger listening to him on my iPod. Now, seeing him at the main stage at EDC as a full grown Adult was literally surreal and I just kept smiling. I thought to myself in that moment, one day Benny won’t play shows any more but you’ll have witnessed a legendary set at the biggest music festival in USA. Another highlight is that one of my good friends randomly ran into me at that stage! We hugged and danced it was a real core memory. Those are the type of quirky little coincidences that happen at EDC. Real magic lives here.
Another full circle moment happened when I accidentally lost my phone while trying to take care of a friend who got a little too drunky drunk (try not to be that friend, please party responsibly) but a very nice RAVER returned my phone to the Lost & Found! Like oh my gosh, I thought it was gone for good but luckily PLURR is still alive and well. I can definitely say I was blessed by the Rave Gods , especially with all the phone thievery that happens at events. SHOUT OUT TO THAT RAVER FOR REAL I LOVE YOU!
One last moment I wanted to share with you guys is the time I wandered off solo on a side mission. The first time I’ve ever been solo at a rave and let me tell you .. it was liberating! I felt so free and in control of my own world. Don’t get me wrong, I love my rave family but the sense of empowerment you feel when you literally get to go see and do whatever you want with no strings attached was truly a remarkable and an unforgettable moment during that weekend. I saw Caspa and Boogie T! Fire sets. (Bass Pod will always be home) If you ever get the chance to solo side mission, send that sh*t fam!
All in all, I had an unforgettable time . EDC is by far my favorite event and I’m already planning for next year! Who knows , maybe Bass Bird will have an EDC pop up booth by then . You never know ;) Thank you EDC. Everyone I connected with, traded Kandi, took pictures, and danced with you guys really made it special. I want to give a special thank you to Insomniac Events and all of their team for taking care of everybody that weekend and making sure everyone was safe and having an unforgettable time. Thank you to the all the artists and performers that came out and gave us their all. I appreciate everyone in this unique community with all my heart.
Give away winner and custom design color idea reveal
So much gratitude to every one who participated in this give away. I made a lot of new friends and it was probably one of my most successful give aways I’ve had to date. I loved the option of letting the winner choose the color way. I feel it really gave the winner a chance to make the pash their own.
The winner is a sweet young lady from Southern California named Lorena or @b.lolo2 on Instagram. I was excited she won because not only is she a Cali girl like me, but she told me she would be wearing MY pashmina hood design to her very first EDC! Like WHAT?! I was over the moon excited to make this special for her. A lot of love went into this pashmina hood and I had so much fun creating it. The 2 colors she chose were Blue and Black. The black really made the blue pop out and vice versa. She loved it to say the least. I even made her a special “my first edc 2024” Kandi especially for her <3 (another full circle moment because edc was the first rave that changed my whole world and really opened my eyes to what it’s all about)
Thank you Lorena for participating girl and supporting the movement. Everyone who sees my posts and think it’s somewhat cool enough to like, comment, or even follow really pushes me to keep going with this project. All signs are pointing YES GO GO GO .
I will be hosting another give away soon in this month of June so stay tuned everybody. Thank you for reading and happy raving <3 stay safe and stay hydrated . plurr
